FIND HOW MUCH MONEY ANY GAME MADE ON STEAM
Uploaded by Thousand AntShare: Twitter Facebook
In this video Matt Mirrorfish from Thousand Ant explains a simple formula that allows you to calculate how much a given game has made by selling on Steam using the "boxleitner method".
The Boxleitner method allows you to take publicly available data, the number of reviews, to calculate hidden data: the estimated total revenue and game sales numbers.
If you just want the formula it's: sales x 50 x price, where 50 can vary depends on various factors.
Note that there is some guess work involved, but this can be a very useful tool to figure out roughly how much a given game has sold, and can help you plan your own productions and create reasonable budgets and plans.
